Sukdu Time: Dena’ina Stories
Join us for a special video episode with shareholder author Barbara Jacko Atwater, as she shares a sukdu (“story” in Dena’ina) and reflects on her journey as a writer. Inspired by her Uncle Walter, Barbara discusses what led her to write Walter’s Story and reads the Dena’ina children’s books she co-wrote with her son, Ethan: How Raven Got His Crooked Nose and Chia and the Fox Man. Through these stories, she celebrates the Dena’ina language and the tradition of sharing stories across generations.
