Shareholder Development

Jobs, Careers, Employment & Training Support

As part of our commitment to promoting the well-being of our shareholders, BBNC works to improve shareholders’ employment, training, and educational prospects through a variety of channels. One of the most direct of these is to hire and retain as many shareholders and descendants as we can within the BBNC family of companies, while also providing assistance to those who are seeking employment outside of BBNC.

BBNC owns subsidiary companies throughout Alaska and well beyond. Our companies fall within five distinct pillars: construction, government services, industrial services, petroleum, tourism and seafood processing. Our belief is that shareholders in BBNC’s workforce help make our businesses stronger, so we recruit qualified shareholders to fill BBNC’s employment ranks whenever we can. In fact, our shareholder hiring preference is a corporate priority across all our companies.

We also help set shareholders up for successful job seeking by assisting with resumes, job applications, and interview skills. Once they’re employed, we support their career success and professional development.

Shareholder Support Programs

Designed to assist shareholders to gain, maintain or advance in employment, BBNC’s Employment Support and Short-Term Training Support Programs are another way we promote the success of our shareholder community.

Employment Support

The Employment Support Program provides funding for work supplies, gear, and fees. Shareholders need to be successful in attaining and maintaining a job—such as licensing, certification fees and North Slope winter gear.
