Bristol Bay Native Corporation held the Bristol Bay Leadership Forum on December 7 and 8 at the William Egan Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage. Over 150 village leaders and youth from Bristol Bay joined us to listen to a wide variety of speakers present on issues that are important to the region and State.
The two-day workshop included presentations on a variety of topics, including descendant enrollment, governmental and legislative affairs, culture and community health, and more. The Forum also featured a special Youth Leadership Symposium in partnership with UTBB and the UAF Bristol Bay Campus. Over 40 youth from across the region sat in on BBLF and attended special sessions and discussions on topics impacting youth in Bristol Bay.
BBNC would like to thank all the speakers that took the time to present to our village leaders, and also all those who were able to attend; we hope you were able to walk away from BBLF with a lot of helpful information you can take back to your communities. If you have feedback and suggestions on how the forum can be improved next year, please let us know.
