Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC), a dynamic and fast growing corporation, seeks a Vice President of Business Operations. BBNC is a diversified corporation with more than $1 billion in annual revenue. Its holdings include investments and services including a stock portfolio, architectural design, cardlock fueling, corporate services, corrosion inspection, environmental engineering and remediation, oilfield and environmental cleanup labor, and surveying and government services. BBNC has, and continues to be, a major contributor to Alaska’s economy.
The VP of Business Operations will plan, direct and oversee activities of subsidiary operating companies consistent with the strategic business plans and objectives adopted by the BBNC Board of Directors. Duties and responsibilities include: functioning effectively as a member of the BBNC management team; assisting the Board with development of business operations strategies; formulating and implementing policies; monitoring and directing subsidiary business operations; and, ensuring that subsidiary operating companies are managed in a manner consistent with BBNC goals, objectives and values.
This position will work closely with the subsidiary operating company presidents and BBNC management in coordinating joint actions, planning for the future (annual and 5 year strategic business plans and budgets) and communicating corporate expectations and direction. The VP of Business Operations will oversee the allocation of available resources including: investable dollars, bonding capacity, human resources, and other BBNC assets allocated for business operational purposes; represent the interests of BBNC and its shareholders within the business, political and regulatory environment; and, act as advocate for shareholder hire and shared resources programs.
In addition to carrying out the directives of the Board of Directors, the VP of Business Operations will work closely with the VP/CFO on issues related to business investment, financial planning and reporting, and profitability; the VP/General Council on legal matters concerning subsidiaries and BBNC; the Corporate Relations Manager on issues concerning shareholder relations, benefits and rights; the Land and Resource Manager regarding the use of corporate land resources; the corporate Controller regarding accounting, financial control and compliance; the COO and CEO on corporate direction and tactics; and will be responsible for fulfilling other duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer (COO). The VP of Business Operations shall serve as a member of the BBNC Mergers and Acquisitions Due Diligence team along with the CFO and General Counsel.

Operational Functions:
* Alaskan Native Business and SBA 8(a) program, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources management, leadership techniques, operational management, coordination of people and resources.
* Regulatory and legal framework applicable to Alaska Native Business.
* Principals and procedures for government contracting, contract negotiations, surety and insurance.
* Business Management principals including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and production methods.
* Commercial, construction and government contracting.
* Economic and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking, reporting and analysis of financial data.
* Common metrics used to measure operational efficiency and productivity.
* Principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
* Human resource management theories and practices.
Experience and Education:
* A minimum of ten (10) years experience in progressively responsible management experience preferably in a corporate environment that has provided the candidate with significant experience in a broad range of business management functions.
* Three (3) years or more of upper level management experience and an established network of contacts with related industry professionals are considered desirable.
* Computer skilled, with advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Data Base applications, and Accounting Information System software.
* Prefer experience in Government contracting process.
* Minimum of a Bachelors degree in business or operational management, or a closely related field. A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or other graduate level degree that has provided the candidate with a strong background in business and operational management theory and techniques is preferred.
