Essential Functions
• Responsible for project estimates
• Prepare bid packages/instruction to bidders and prepare and maintain detailed schedules
• Order all required materials and interact with sub-contractors and suppliers
• Maintain and enforce safety regulations and building code requirements
• Supervise on-site work to ensure the work is done completely and efficiently
• Ensure that the project stays on schedule, prepare for any potential delays by monitoring and inspections well in advance
• Inspect the work of each trade and confirm that not only the quality of the work is up to standard, but that the work is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications
• Have regularly scheduled weekly subtrade meetings to discuss safety, schedule and coordination
• Prepare field directives and change orders as required for any additional approved costs or changes to the work
• Set up and maintain a complete set of job files, which include subtrade contracts, correspondence, inspection reports, correspondence from the development team, the architect, etc.
• Ensure that Daily Progress Reports are completed daily by site staff
Requirements
• 7-10 years supervisory construction experience required
• Experience with projects in the $10-20 million range
• Experience with government contracting a plus
• Experience with vertical and/or horizontal construction
• Must have a high degree of computer literacy, strong proficiency in MS
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Quality orientation and high attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and organize, work well under stress, meet deadlines
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change
• Ability to work flexible hours, as required to meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills to assist and communicate with staff
Preference will be given to BBNC shareholders.
Physical demands
Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus); occasional walking; standing for up to 4 hours; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Work is performed in a professional office facility and field environments.
